What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture uses fine, sterile needles placed at selected points on the body. It has roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine and is also used within contemporary clinical approaches. The points and techniques selected depend on the practitioner’s training, your health history and your treatment goals.
People may consider acupuncture as part of a care plan for musculoskeletal pain, headaches, muscle tension, mobility concerns, menstrual symptoms, stress or relaxation. Evidence and individual response vary by condition, so your practitioner will discuss whether acupuncture is appropriate for you.
Needle sensations differ from person to person. Some people notice a brief pinch, warmth, heaviness or tingling, while others feel very little. Treatment can be adjusted to your comfort.
