Education
Growing up in the U.K. enabled me to explore the many high-quality schools available and decide which educational path was right for me. Swansea University was an obvious choice because of the high standard of education and the lifestyle balance it provided. There I received over 1200 hours of clinical training throughout the full-time 4-year master’s programme, including anatomy and technique lectures from osteopaths who work with the latest cutting-edge techniques.
Throughout my practice I have developed a keen interest around fascia and how postural issues have such a huge impact on conditions I help to treat on a daily basis. I plan to further explore this interest with in-person workshops offered by leading experts across the world.
Career
In order to grow personally and professionally, I left the U.K. in 2019 to work in Canada, an area where osteopathy is practiced somewhat differently. I have operated my own practice in Halifax and had the pleasure of working in 3 different multidisciplinary clinics within Nova Scotia, located in Bedford, Halifax, and Chester.
Nova Scotia continues to provide valuable and diverse experiences for my osteopathy career. I have treated patients who have been in motor vehicle accidents and needed rehab plans after unique surgery, patients with complex genetic conditions, and acute pain conditions such as during pregnancy. Though I have definitely developed specialized interests, I plan to continue to gain experience across all areas. I am excited to be working in Mahone Bay and with Zenith Physio Pilates to see where this new experience will take me.
