
Somatic Experiencing is a body-centered therapeutic approach designed to help individuals heal from trauma and chronic stress. Developed by Dr. Peter Levine, it focuses on noticing and gently releasing the physical tension and sensations that remain in the body after traumatic experiences. Rather than revisiting traumatic memories directly, Somatic Experiencing helps people gradually restore their nervous system’s natural balance by tuning into bodily sensations in a safe and controlled way. This process supports healing by allowing the body to complete unresolved fight, flight, or freeze responses. Transformation is natural when we feel safer, and when we have company. A Somatic Experiencing practitioner will support you to connect to your somatic wisdom, trusting yourself more and in a more liberated relationship with your body.
