Zenith Physio Pilates is looking for a Pelvic Health/ MSK Physiotherapist to join us in the beautiful seaside community of Mahone Bay, NS. Our team currently offers musculoskeletal and pelvic health physiotherapy services, as well as clinical Pilates, osteopathy, naturopathy, and massage therapy services. All of our therapists work one-on-one with patients, and we have an excellent reputation for helping patients find solutions to complex problems.

If you haven’t lived in Nova Scotia before, there are many great reasons to try it: the ocean, the lakes, the forests, the traffic (there is none), and the people just to name a few. The community is warm and welcoming, and supportive of arts, music, sports, great food, sailing, surfing, gardening, and fitness (which we love). Our patients tend to be proactive about their health and open to the solutions we have to offer them.

 

1) Education (required)

• Undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy (BSc, MSc, or Clinical Masters)
• Post-graduate training in manual assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor. Newly qualified are welcome to apply

 

2) Education (preferred)

Pilates Instructor certification or other training in pelvic floor/functional core rehabilitation exercise prescription.

 

3) Roles and Responsibilities

Direct Clinical Care

• Work with patients to identify physical problems and limitations
• Develop and review treatment programs, both individual and group
• Provide manual and/or exercise-based therapy for patients with pelvic floor dysfunction
• Provide manual and/or exercise-based therapy for patients with joint and spinal problems
• Educate and advise patients and their caregivers on how to prevent and/or improve conditions
• Assist in the supervision and education of physiotherapy students
• Write patient case notes and reports; maintain charts as per NSCP standards
• Keep up-to-date with new techniques and technologies available for treating patients
• Liaise with other healthcare personnel to supply and receive relevant information about the background and progress of patients, as well as referring patients who require other specific medical attention.
